薪の代替燃料となる紙薪を作りましたScouts have made the paper firewood
豊見城１団ビーバー・カブ隊は、２月１７日（日）の隊集会で「段ボールオーブン」でピザを焼きます。
Pack Tomigusuku 1 will be baking pizza in a "cardboard oven" at the Pack Meeting on February 18 (Sun).
それに伴い、２月１１日（日）午前１０時より、豊見城総合公園東屋に於いて、薪の代替燃料となる紙薪を作りました。
Accordingly, from 10 a.m. on February 11 (Sun), they made paper firewood, an alternative fuel to firewood, at the Tomigusuku General Park shelter.

作成手順は、①新聞紙等を水でふやかす。②形を整える。③乾燥させるという簡単なものです。
Steps to make: ① Soak newspaper, etc. with water. ② Adjust the shape. ③It's as simple as drying it.
警視庁ホームページによると、「普通の新聞紙なら一瞬で燃え尽きてしまうが、紙薪なら木のように安定した火力を得ることができる。」とあります。

今月の隊集会テーマ「段ボールオーブン」は、令和６年能登半島地震の記憶が薄れないうちに、災害時に停電やガス供給が起こった場合でも、身近な材料で料理ができることを、スカウトや保護者に知ってもらうことを目的として企画したのですが、「紙薪」も身近な物で燃料を作るできるということを学んでもらえる機会となりました。

It was designed to educate scouts and parents aims to help people remember the Noto Peninsula Earthquake of 2020, and to remind people that even in case of a power outage or gas supply during a disaster, they can still cook with readily available materials.
この日、スカウトたちは、①新聞紙を細かくちぎる、②それを水でふやかす、③絞り水分をきる、④成形する、⑤乾燥させる、という工程を体験しました。
On the day, the scouts experienced the following steps: 1) tearing newspaper into small pieces, 2) soaking it with water, 3) squeezing it to remove moisture, 4) shaping it, and 5) drying it.
乾燥には２、３日かかるそうですので、実際の使用は２月１８日ということになります。
It seems that it will take 2-3 days to dry, so the actual use will be February 18.
